Here it is another frustrating thing that annoyed me for a week at least..
Content: eclipse + svn repository
My password saved in eclipse was out of date.. so then I had to use a new one.
the problem is that eclipse memorized the old password and didn't allow me to overwrite it with the new one.. even if I have been clicking all the time on the "save password" tick.
Because of this eclipse was asking me me new password for every action that was involving the svn server.. very very annoying..
I finally found out this morning a way to avoid this:
go in
Window -> Preferences ->Team -> SVN -> password manager
and remove the password that has been saved there..
now restart eclipse and do an svn update
save the password..
and MAGIC.. eclipse doesn't ask you anymore to insert the new password.
YEAH!! ;)
bye,
Grazia

wincvs "try 'cvs login' with a real password"
I can't believe sometimes.. small things can frustrate you so much!!!
Today I had a problem with WinCVS:
In the past I checked out a module from CVS with a collegue of mine user&password..
so then I changed the WinCVS Admin log-in with my credential..
and so far everything was find: I could log-in without any error.. but there here it begins the nightmare: whatever I was trying to do on my old checked out module I was getting this error:
"Empty password used - try 'cvs login' with a real password"
even if I was logging-out and logging-in again with my real and correct password!!
so anyway.. making the story shorter.. the problem was that the folder where the project was checked out.. contained, in each hidden CVS subfolder, a file named 'Root' that still had the old credential written on.. and this was creating a conflict!!
So then to solve the problem, as you can guess, I had to do a find&replace on all the module folder.. changing the old string credential with the new one..
... and, guess what???, IT WORKED.
such a nightmare.
Hope to help somebody with the same problem.. because I couldn't find much online related with this issue.
See you guys ;)

export skype chat history
How can I export my Skype chat history to another computer?
just click on the export/import button...
right!!! I would like it was so easy..
Anyway.. it's not too difficult.. :)
I found my chat history files in 2 different location. Maybe because I already migrated the history previosly.. or maybe because I recently installed a new skype version (4.0).
These are the paths to the folders we want to copy on the new computer:
* C:\Documents and Settings\*YourWinUserName*\Application Data\skypePM
* C:\Documents and Settings\*YourWinUserName*\Application Data\Skype\*skypeUserName*\
I just copied these 2 folders.. and all my chat histories where at the right place.
I hope this will help you.
See you,
